When we started looking for a potential Payroll service provider, we wanted a company that had good credentials, a strong track record of delivery, a number of important clients, and a company that would work with us through the transition and beyond using their undoubted system implementation and Payroll skills.
Frankly, WCS' claim that they could implement a live Payroll within a month of us placing a firm order with them (and that month included 2 weeks worth of parallel runs against our existing live weekly Payroll), were viewed with some suspicion and as a sales pitch! However, Wealden did exactly what they claimed on the tin - and more! Yes, there was much planning and hard work between NL&M's existing Payroll team and WCS, but the project went live just before the 05/06 tax year end. Infact, we went live on Week 51, which also raised some eyebrows as a strange time to go live, but that enabled WCS to prepare the P35/P60 end of year returns for all employees paid at some point during the tax year 05/06.

We now have a relatively smooth weekly Payroll of some 650 live employees, despite much change in employees as is the norm for a construction type project that NL&M are managing. Many weeks throw up something new in terms of Payroll requirements, but WCS are always there
