UK Domains History

In 1996 UK Domains was born from an idea of two separate individuals working in different parts of the country. As one of the first members of Nominet, UK Domains quickly began to build a reputation as experts in the supply of domains and domain management services.

In early 1999 UK Domains added hosting to its portfolio of services and since then has grown a phenomenal customer base of clients both in the UK and overseas. Through continued focus on quality customer service our customer base has continued to grow making UK Domains one of the largest domain registration and virtual hosting companies in the UK today.

Until 2002 UKDomains.net (formerley Gillett Multimedia) and UKDomains.com existed and operated as two completely separate companies and were in fact competitors to one another. In April of that year the two companies merged to form UK Domains Ltd and united have continued to grow month on month.

Today, UK Domains new headquarters in Poole, Dorset (pictured), is home to a our developers, business development team and management. Unlike many hosting companies, UK Domains operates a number of satellite offices enabling us to provide local support to our customer. Our south coast data centre facilities are second to none and have received considerable investment to ensure continued high quality service and support for our customers.
